HIV and the Law

What are the laws in the UK?

There is a UK law called the Equality Act that protects people with HIV from discrimination.

In the UK, not sharing your HIV status with a sexual partner is not an offence. It is only an offence if there has been HIV transmission, you know your HIV status, know how HIV is transmitted, have not used a condom and have not disclosed to the partner (reckless transmission).
